The Committee on the Rule of Law and Justice recommends that the Parliament should adopt as a basis the draft law on amendments to article 131 of the Law ‘On the Judicial System and Status of Judges’ (re service record of a judge)

As it was noted during the Committee meeting, the bill (Reg. No. 3017) is aimed at protection of judges’ right to resignation and receiving monthly financial allowance if they have a service record of a prosecutor or investigator; provided that service record as a judge is not less than ten years.

The bill suggests amend article 131 ‘On the Judicial System and Status of Judges.’

The Committee members stressed that the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat claims the bill’s provisions are appropriate and notes that following the results of consideration in the first reading, it can be adopted as a basis.
